Correspondence Analyst/Technical Editor
Washington, DC
The Correspondence Analyst/Technical Editor’s primary function will be to support the Program and Deputy Program Managers within the In-Service Aircraft Carriers Program Office (PMS 312) with managing and driving correspondence and tasker response preparation and review.  
Responsible for editing, proof-reading and formatting official correspondence according to DON guidelines.   Manage correspondence workflow and processes to include document tracking, issuing reminders, ensuring packages are complete prior to submission to the PM/DPM for review.  Assist in editing, proofreading and formatting a variety of communication materials to include briefing materials, awards, manuals, procedures, plans, and official Dept of Navy documents to ensure consistent tone, format and standard of excellence.  Provide front office administrative support by performing other administrative duties as assigned. This position is a high visibility, customer facing position, and will frequently meet with senior members of the PMS 312 leadership team. 
Responsibilities:
  • Edit, format, prepare, route and track correspondence packages.
  • Develop content for and edit reports, presentations, staff communications, etc., tailored appropriately to users and audience, based on customer requirements.  Documents will be produced according to proper grammar, punctuation, format, spelling, style, and order of presentation.
  • Provide general day-to-day operations and administrative support (scheduling, task management, special project coordination and tracking, etc.) for PMS 312 leadership.
  • Coordinates, edits, and finalizes products according to DoD, DON, Plain Language, GPO standards and industry best practices and customer expectations.

Requirements:
Ideal candidate should have 5-10 years relevant or specialized experience in correspondence management and technical editing.  In particular, pertaining to the following areas:
  • Must have direct experience handling DON Correspondence.
  • Must be independent, highly organized and able to work on multiple projects with competing deadlines at the same time.
  • Must be resourceful, take initiative, and be able to execute high-quality, high-visibility products in accordance with deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.  Ability to produce content independently, using correct spelling and grammar.
  • Team player able to work with government and contractor technical and administrative teams.
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel in particular)
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Secret Security Clearance REQUIRED
  • Must be US Citizen
