Senior Systems Engineer
Chantilly, VA
Senior System Engineer for the Overhead Persistence Infra-Red Integrated Systems Program Office (OPIR ISPO), a joint program office responsible for acquiring and fielding an OPIR ground enterprise architecture.
The position requires strong systems engineering and intelligence systems acquisition experience.
Specific responsibilities include but may not be limited to:
  1. Participate in development of acquisition strategy planning
  2. Provide the Government advance and objective insight into program issues, execution risks, and corrective actions
  3. Participate in program management, business management, and budget execution reviews and provide feedback to the Government
  4. Support and/or lead various technical meeting and boards, take and distribute minutes, as required
  5. Participate in internal and external forums and develop recommendations relating to architectural direction and guidance
  6. Support joint/global transition and modernization initiatives /activities with both Mission partners, the IT Community, and Commonwealth partners
  7. Creation of briefings, interactive presentation, as required.
  8. Assisting program office engineers in developing Requests For Change (RFCs)
  9. Develop and implement system engineering processes for configuration management and maintaining the program baseline
Requirements:
  • Engineering degree or equivalent work experience
  • US Citizen with Secret Security Clearance
  • Senior Engineer with System Engineering experience
  • Solid understanding of OPIR technology
  • Ability to support day to day engineering tasks as required in the development, generation, and technical vetting of program
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Capable of participating in program management, business management, and budget execution reviews and provide feedback to the Government
  • Knowledge of principles of Configuration Management, Requirements Management and Risk analysis as it relates to System Engineering in an Intelligence Community environment
  • Ability to support fact finding and negotiations and provide feedback to the Government
  • Experience with development and maintenance of Program Execution Plans and Strategic implementation plans
  • Master of problem identification and problem solving processes and techniques
  • Ability to review/evaluate engineering change proposals and provide tech-eval positions
