Senior Systems Integrator
Norfolk, VA
Responsibilities:
  • Identify and analyze all or part of a component’s existing or new peripheral, network, and systems requirements, taking into consideration the special technology needs
  • Establish functional and technical specifications and standards, solve hardware and software interface problems, define input / output parameters, and ensure integration of the entire systems or subsystem
  • Work with other engineers, systems analysts, programmers, technicians, scientists and top-level managers in the design, testing, and evaluation of systems
  • Test and evaluate hardware and software to determine efficiency, reliability, and compatibility with existing system, and make purchase recommendations
  • Provide frequent contact with customers, traceability within program documents, and the overall computing environment and architecture
  • Consult customers, visit workplaces or conduct surveys to determine present and future user needs
  • Ensure coordination and information flow between all programs and organizational managers
  • Estimate software-testing costs and schedule
  • Prepare milestone status reports and deliveries/presentations on the system test and evaluation concept to colleagues, subordinates, and end user representatives
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware
  • Recommend changes to improve systems and network configurations, and determine hardware or software requirements related to such changes
  • Gather data pertaining to customer needs, and use the information to identify, predict, interpret, and evaluate system and network requirements
  • Research new technology, and implement it or recommend its implementation
  • Provide direct support to the program manager(s)
  • Generate documentation and deliverables that support the lifecycle of the supported products and systems
  • Collaborate with Cyber Security professionals to perform the security control assessments, determine residual security risks, prepare assessment test reports, prepare and assess test plans, and provide formal recommendations in support of authorization events
  • Significant experience with Linux and Microsoft Windows operating systems and system security (Command line experience a plus)

Required Experience/Education:
  • US citizen with ability to obtain Secret Security Clearance
  • Strong preference for a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a scientific or technical discipline
  • Bachelor’s degree with a preference for a Master’s degree
  • Configuration Management – Application management software; Automated installation software; Patch and update management software; Systems and applications migration software
  • Knowledge of Model Based Product Support (MBPS) or its components Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Supply Chain Management (SCM), Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).
  • Network security or VPN management – Intrusion prevention system IPS software; Network and system vulnerability assessment software;
  • Transaction security and virus protection – Encryption software; Packet filter software
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent and a minimum of 5 years of related experience
  • An active TS/SCI clearance is required
  • Current certification compliant with DoD 8570 IAT level II (COMPTIA Security +)
  • Considerable experience performing system administration tasks on Linux systems
  • Strong knowledge of software engineering fundamentals and concepts as they relate to overall system design
  • Ability to evaluate technical trade-offs
  • Ability to perform tasks for multiple concurrent projects
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with frequent priority adjustments
  • Self-starter with good interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills

Preferred Skills/Experience:
  • Master’s degree or equivalent and 7 years of related experience
  • Current certification compliant with DoD 8570 IAT level III (CISSP)
  • Experience with system security and accreditation processes
  • Ability to write code or scripts to automate software production processes
  • Amazon Web Services, Red Hat, Windows, or Oracle certifications
