Submarine Structural Engineer
Washington, DC
This Position is located VIRGINIA Class Submarine Program Office (PMS 450), Office of the Program Executive Officer, Submarines (PEO SUB), Naval Sea Systems Command.
The position requires knowledge of Submarine Structural Integrity requirements (submarine design and construction), familiarity with NAVSEA processes and understanding of overall Navy ship design process.   
Specific responsibilities include but may not be limited to:
  1. Coordinates the review and consolidation of comments for VPM structural deliverables for compliance with requirements.
  2. Prepares PMS450 final disposition of VPM structural deliverables and coordinate response with other NAVSEA directorates.
  3. Participates in the review of VPM systems and components for compliance with structural requirements.  
  4. Participates in the review of VPM structural arrangements to ensure compliance with approved deliverables.
  5. Supports R&D efforts in support of VPM pressure hull structural design.
  6. Supports PMS450 Technical Director on BLK VI structural concept developments.
  7. Supports the VPM Structures System Integration Team.  Provide support to other System Integration Team leads as required.
  • 5-10 years’ experience submarine hull design procedures and criteria, Navy Ship systems engineering, NAVSEA Tech Authority processes
  • Engineering degree
  • Must be a US Citizen with a Secret Clearance
